Short for foreign exchange, forex trading is fast becoming the poker game of the finance industry; but don’t let professional traders hear you liken their sophisticated, elitist world of currency trading unto something as seedy and untoward as gambling. And while they themselves don’t trade on the same level as the big investment banking firms, professional retail traders pride themselves on their possession of superior knowledge and ability in the field of finance and economics. They believe that forex is being “dumbed down” in order to make it possible for average people to participate and they anticipate that having people like you and me out there talking about we’re trading currency when we have no idea whatsoever what currency trading really is all about will somehow doom the entire trillion dollar currency trading industry.
