It is 12:21PM. I am still needing to make $500 today. So far I have managed to make $0.11 cents. I think I might finally have reached that hopeless point. Usually I am able to make something happen, create something and sell it or sell something I already own, like a website, a wordpress template, something. Usually my determination to find a way results in a way being found but it doesn’t seem to be working any more. I am on the verge of panicking….

I put an ad on craigslist trying to find women who have had affairs with wealthy men. Simona (not her real name) replied to my ad and she and I had a ten minute chat via yahoo instant messenger.
I asked Simona to tell me about the wealthy man with whom she had her affair.
Simona claimed the gentleman who paid her half a million dollars was the CEO of a pretty big company. She wouldn’t name the company because she felt it would then be easy to figure out the name of the CEO. For the purposes of this post we’ll just refer to him as John.
Simona claimed she met John when she was hired as the nanny to look after his infant son and toddler daughter.
John was 58 and his wife (lets call her Diane) was 43. Simona was 23 at the time of the affair. She said she had always gotten the feeling that John had a sexual interest in her, and she put it to the test one night while Diane was away in Italy.
Simona admitted she had no interest in John herself. She had always wanted to have an affair with a rich man and she pursued a nanny position just because of the opportunities she felt it would provide.
Simona claimed she gave John “the ride of his life” the night she seduced him, and he became immediately hooked. He made her quit her job because he didn’t want to take the risk of sleeping with her with his wife under the same roof (her job was a live-in position).

Here we go again.
I never did make the $640 I needed to make the other day. I fell short by about $600.
My bank account is in the deficit again.
I remain clueless how to fix this ongoing problem where I simply cannot seem to make any money. At this point I am not running a business. I am just running around desperately trying to land gigs so I can dig myself out of the financial hole.
How did it come to this?
I do still have a small handful of websites which I built to sell; but I can’t seem to get them sold. I keep reducing the asking price to next to nothing, and even for next to nothing I can’t get them sold.
I’ve tried selling my artwork on Ebay, but I’ve had no luck there.
I’ve bid on some web development projects but received no responses. My earnings yesterday totalled $0.35 cents.
I am starting to think I am fighting against the will of another force that is way more powerful than I am, and that force is determined to see me completely ruined. It’s a nice picture imagining myself prevailing and being able to say that I went from making pennies per day to becoming a millionaire, but I’m starting to think this is similar to me trying to be beautiful back before I finally realized I can’t be other than I am. I was trying to be something I could never be. I wasn’t beautiful. Maybe I’m trying now to be something I can never be. Maybe I was never meant for success.

A quick scan of the Handcrafted, Artisan Jewelry category on the Ebay website will give you a pretty good idea of what you can expect selling costume jewelry on Ebay. Costume jewelry does not appear to sell like hotcakes over on Ebay. Very few listed items of the four hundred or so I viewed had actually received bids.
However, just because current Ebay sellers of costume jewelry don’t appear to be raking in the dough from costume jewelry sales, that doesn’t mean you can’t have success. If your jewelry designs appeal to buyers and you have a knack for getting sales then anything is possible; but generally it’s a smarter idea to sell products on Ebay that people actively buy. When the majority of listings in a category with nearly 50,000 listings have zero bids it’s usually safe to bet that your listing will also receive zero bids; but again, anything is possible.
According to “Can I Make Money Selling My Handmade Jewelry Designs On Ebay?” written by Linda Blackbourn who reportedly had success selling her handmade jewelry on Ebay, if you take the right steps from the outset you can be successful selling costume jewelry on Ebay.

An acquaintance of mine recently purchased two foreclosure homes at $5000 each. He paid for them on a credit card and is in the process of fixing them up.
The properties are multilevel homes, and his plan is to break them into individual rooms to rent at $500 per month. He’s looking at having about 20 or so rental units which, if fully rented out will yield about $10000 per month.
$10000 is not a fortune; but it’s a great start towards building a fortune.
Since he paid for the properties outright he won’t have a monthly mortgage to pay. In just a few months he can pay off the $10000 debt incurred to put the purchases on his credit card. He will then have two investment properties fully paid off and yielding $10000 per month in profit assuming full occupancy.

There’s a job being advertised on craigslist.org. A company is looking for writers willing to accept $15 to do the following:
1) We will mail you a DVD containing one episode of our TV series. An episode typically contains 2 project segments (typically around 7 minutes in length), and 1 or more tip segments (typically 2 to 4 minutes in length).
2) You will watch each segment completely before working on its content.
3) You will identify all steps of the project or tip and write a few sentences of text for each step. We will provide a writing guide, and a sample page demonstrating the type of writing we’d like to see. It’s easy stuff — most of what you’ll be doing is paraphrasing the narration from the video.
4) Using PowerDVD or another DVD playing software, you will take screenshots. You will save one video frame from each step which most accurately depicts that step in action.
5) You will compress all of the text and images into a ZIP archive, and you will email that archive to us at an address we will provide (we will provide you with free ZIP software if you need it).
6) We will mail you a check.

Now this is something I’ve thought about doing myself; and I purchased “Publishing for Profit” by Thomas Woll a few years back to get started; but then I became discouraged. I don’t remember exactly why I became discouraged. Who knows what might have happened had I at least made the effort to follow through with my plans? I might not be where I am right now. I might not have had a fit a moment ago panicking over my current financial predicament.
I just handed the only 5 pieces of jewelry I’ve ever owned to my husband and told him to sell them and deposit the funds into my bank account. They are all things he bought me years ago when he bothered buying me things, including my wedding ring. We’ve never had money so they’re not going to be worth much of anything. I’ll be lucky if he can get $100 for them, but I’m in a mess. My bank account is in the deficit and could get closed.
So how do you avoid finding yourself in predicaments like this? You go out there and make money. You don’t set yourself up for failure by prioritizing silly things like being unhappy with your weight and being unhappy with your love life, over striving to achieve financial security. I seem to remember that when I purchased “Publishing For Profit” with the intention to start my own publishing company, I was dealing with marital problems along with other personal problems. I never even finished reading the book. Now here I am on the verge of a mental breakdown because of lack of money and all the headaches and crises that come with it.
But it’s stupid to cry over what could have been. Don’t make my mistake. If you’re looking for ideas for businesses you can start that could potentially make you rich, a publishing company is one such business, and according to “Publishing for Profit: Successful Bottom-Line Management for Book Publishers
” by Thomas Woll, a publishing company is not very hard to start up. So why not consider it? Pick up a copy of the book and who knows, you might find yourself sitting on top of the world in no time.
