It’s possible to look like a rich woman even if you’re poor

Looking at this photo you would assume you’re looking at a rich woman. I don’t personally know this woman. She might indeed be a rich woman, but it’s interesting the way we associate certain appearances with wealth and poverty.

It would be just as easy for this woman to look poor as to look rich. The emphasis is on the word “look”.

You can look poor and you can look rich but because you look poor doesn’t necessarily mean you’re poor, and because you look rich doesn’t necessarily mean you’re rich.

If you remove the woman’s make-up, undo her hair and rumple it, remove the jewelry and put her in raggedy clothes she suddenly takes on the appearance of a poor person.

If you think about it, the differences between being poor and being rich are all material. It’s a difference of lifestyles and quality of material things.

Money might change your external worth, but money will never give you intrinsic value. The question is, what’s more important, how much you look like you’re worth, or how much you feel like you’re worth. You can have no money and still feel like you’re worth a million bucks, and you can have all the money in the world and feel like you’re worth nothing.
