Make your own clothes
Can’t find clothes you like in retail stores? Why not make your own? Who knows? You might discover a talent you could then turn into millions of dollars. Over the next few weeks I am going to share with you my own endeavors at making my own clothes. I’ll start with a dress and we’ll see how it goes from there. I’m working on the design right now. As you might guess, I’m going to be making a summer dress with sleeves. Since I don’t have a sewing machine I will be sewing it by hand.
The dress I’m going to make will be a long dress. I like long dresses and long skirts. They’re quite comfortable I find. I’ve actually made my own clothes before when I was about 23/24. I made a few long narrow pencil skirts, one was black the other red. I transformed a pink dress into a long pink skirt with a flared hem. I made a long dress with some kind of contraption at the neck, and I made a sexy green halter mini dress to take pictures in to send to my husband. He was not my husband at the time. We were in a long distance relationship and I took some sexy photos of myself in the green halter dress for him. Nothing too risque. I did all my sewing by hand and I actually enjoyed the process. I wish I had the clothes still so I could take some pictures to share, but heaven alone knows what became of them.
Well anyway, I am going to be making a dress and sharing the process with you from start to finish. In the meantime, if you’re seriously interested in making clothes, possibly starting a clothing line, you might find these books from Amazon useful.
